Him that liveth for ever and ever

The last six times

The last six times (18-23) that the words ‘live forever’ are mentioned in the bible is in the book of Revelation.

The book of Revelation is understood to have been written by the apostle John when he was imprisoned on the isle of Patmos (app 85-95 AD) and the first chapter of the book of Revelation begins as follows,

The revelation of Jesus

Each and every time the words ‘live for ever’ are mentioned in the Book of Revelation refer to Him that liveth for ever.’ Him that liveth for ever is our Creator and His Son, as follows:

I am alive for evermore

I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

Give glory and honour and thanks

And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever,

Worship him that liveth for ever and ever

The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

Amen

And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.

Who created heaven … and the earth … and the sea

And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer.

The wrath of God

And one of the four beasts gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials full of the wrath of God, who liveth for ever and ever.

The wrath of God? Why? What does the wrath of God have to do with living forever?

As we have seen in previous posts, the promise to live for ever is closely intertwined with living according to parameters set by our Creator.  The book of Revelation stands as a warning to those who choose not to follow the moral guidelines which were set for humanity. It is comforting reading for those who try to do the right thing and feel thwarted in their efforts. The book of Revelation is also a loud and clear warning to all those who try to convey GOD’s Word to others, that one should never add to nor subtract from scripture, so as not to misrepresent God’s Holy Word.

Do not add nor subtract

For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

On that note please read my disclaimer where I beg my readers to please don’t get me into trouble and urge everyone to grab a bible and start reading. It is the best read!

On the last page of the last chapter in the book of Revelation it is mentioned that,

Blessed are they that do his commandments

Blessed are they that do HIS commandments

Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

On the very last page of the bible we’re told one more time by Jesus to follow God’s moral guidelines for the right to the tree of life.

ABOUT THIS BLOG – We’re researching the truth of living forever according to GOD’s Holy Word; Sola Scripture. Popular opinion tells us that everyone who ‘believes’ and has ‘faith’ will go to heaven. Is this true? I decided to ask the prophets about the truth of it all.
